| Here are a few tips for using the Ric Rac Circle set: |
The Ric Rac Circle Stamp is designed to fit within the Marvy Giga Round Scalloped punch. When placing the circle on your block, you want to make sure that you don’t distort the circle or it won’t fit within the punch. You can easily tell if you are way off, but how do you tell if you are just a little bit off or exactly right? Keep reading for some easy tips...

When I place the circle on the block I lightly ‘drop’ it into place; it will naturally fall in its perfect circle shape. |
Then I check it by placing the full circle journaling lines stamp on top of it to see how it matches up to the circle. (the journaling stamp will overlap the ric rac circle slightly). You can also check it by stamping and punching a test piece to see how it fits. |
Stamp the Ric Rac circle.
(Now that you have the ric rac circle perfectly placed on your block, it is nice if you have enough extra blocks to leave it there until you are completely finished making all your tags for that stamping session).

The images from the Little Cuties set are designed to fit perfectly with the Ric Rac Circle set, and still leave you room to write a ”to: from:”, or a greeting or small message. In this example I am stamping the star from Little Cuties.

An easy way to get your sentiments lined up around your ric rac circle, is to first stamp one on either side of the star, (or whatever image you are using). Then stamp the rest of the sentiments. I first estimate the number of sentiments that will fit in the space that is left. In this example I can see that it will be three (for a total of 5 "celebrates" inside the circle) |
Then visually dividing the remaining space, stamp another sentiment directly across from the star. |
Now you can easily center the last two sentiments on either side in the remaining space. If you are not using an image and just want your sentiment to go all the way around in a circle, you can stamp the first two sentiments directly across from each other and then stamp the remainder using the above technique.
Finally punch your circle in the scalloped punch by moving it around until the ric rac edges line up with the scallops.

And here's the finished tag!

A tip when using the sentiments from Ric Rac Circle:
Remember you can bend and stretch your acrylic stamps. I have been using the curved words by bending them to curve a little more or stretching them to a wider curve and I am finding lots of other uses for them. You can see examples of this in the idea gallery with the ‘Happy Birthday Dear’ card and the ‘Hello Friend’ (flower garden) card. I used the happy birthday sentiment from Ric Rac Circle on the deer card and tightened the curve to fit in the 1 3/8” punch. Just do a little testing to find the right fit before you stamp the final piece.

For a variation stretch your ric rac circle into an oval, stamp the sentiments by bending as above and then cut it out (as it won’t fit within the punch when stretched) |
