It is nearing the end of the school year, and what better way to thank that special teacher than with a packet of seeds in this cute library pocket holder.

SUPPLIES:

Double Sided Patterned paper

Adhesive: Roller & PopDots

Brads

Detail Scissors.

Corner Rounder (or hand cut using template)

Stamps: Flower Greetings

Memento Ink pads

Colored Pencils or Markers

Cutting Template for Pocket (pdf)

Packet of seeds

Using double sided pattern paper cut the library card template.  The measurements are included in the picture, or you can download the template and print directly on your patterened paper.

You will need to score along the folds.

Fold and adhere the flaps to the back of the card.  The inside of the library pocket will be the opposite side of the pattern paper like shown.  I used October Afternoon’s Fly a Kite “Picnic Table.”

Stamp 2 “thank-yous” from the Pink Persimmon Flower Greetings set as shown.  I stamped them right next to each other so they would look “linked.”

Take marker or colored pencil and color in portions of the thank-you stamps as shown

Cut a 4 inch by 1 inch strip of cardstock and punch scallops along the edge using a border punch.

Cut out the 2 stamped flower images.  Adhere the scalloped strip of cardstock and the stamped images on the library pocket as shown.

Tear pieces of pattern paper to make your “petals” as shown.  They do not have to be perfect petal shapes.  You will be scrunching them a bit.

Adhere your petals to form the base of the flower as shown.  I bent some of the edges up as well.

Continue to tear pieces of pattern paper to add to the flower base.  I made two layers of petals.  The base layer petals were larger then the inside layer.  Scrunch and bend the petals to give some depth and texture as shown

Tear an inch size circle out of the pattern paper.  Insert a brad into the center as shown

Holding the brad wrap the pattern paper up around it as shown in the picture. (My 3 year old daughter is the little model holding the flower!)  It is okay to crinkle it.  This will be the flower center.

Push this through the flower center.  Crinkle and bend to shape it.  Add pop dots to the base of the flower and adhere to the library pocket.  Insert the seed packet and it is ready to deliver!
