If you have ever had a newborn and are anything like me, you are swimming in baby clothes! From hand-me-downs to gifts from friends to those extra cute things you see in the stores that you just HAVE to have, you are left with an abundance of clothes for your new little one. And if you are anything like me, you end up putting your baby in the same outfits over and over because they seem to be the only ones that make it to the washing machine. There are so many times I have found a cute outfit stuck in the back of the closet with the tags still on because I just can't keep track of what I have. Well, no longer! I made up some cute closet tags to help you organize yourself and your baby based on their size. Organization is a must for any new mom to stay sane.

I have a special someone in my life having a girl soon so I thought I would make some girl tags to send out as a gift.

SUPPLIES:

Colored Cardstock and White Cardstock

Adhesive

Scalloped Circle punch

Cuttle bug or Circle cutter

Corner Rounder

Stamps:
Baby Clothesline , Baby Greetings and Soda Pop Alpha Small

Memento Ink pads

Copic Markers
(you can also use other coloring markers or pencils).

I started out by cutting my card tags at 3 x 5.25. I then ran them through my Cuttlebug with the second smallest classic circle die cut close to the top. This will be the opening of the tag.

You can also use a circle cutter system like the Martha Stewart circle cutter if you don't have a Cuttlebug

After that I rounded all the corners and then cutting two straight slits to open the circles on one side.

I cut some larger circles and stamped my images and sizes on them using Pink Persimmon's Baby Clothesline and Soda Pop Small Alphas. I stamped the image straight to the paper. This was mainly because the tags have to be functional and I didn't want the layers falling apart as they are bumped around in a closet.

I then colored them all up with some Copic Markers. You can also use other types of markers or colored pencils.

I also used a scallop circle to cut pink circles for matting my images.

And finally I assembled them. You can see how I used the Colorless Blending Pen to add some patterns to the green pjs and also the red undies (see the sample below with the polka dots)

The Copic Colorless blending tool is really more of an "eraser" where it can remove the marker color and allow you to make a pattern on something already colored with the Copic markers.

And here they all are together! This is a really fast project to make that is so much fun to give.

I decided to bundle them and wrap it with some ribbon and a tag. Perfect to tuck into a gift bag or put on top of a box full of new baby clothes!

I used Baby Greetings for the tag stamping the background with the small single heart and adding a button and embroidery floss.

And there you have it. I hope you get a chance to make your own set of Closet Tags and bring some organization to that new mom in your life.

Happy Crafting! - Kristie.
