Step 1:
Purchase a house to alter. Mine is a wooden bird house I bought at a local craft store.
|
 |
Step 2:
Paint all the edges and corners with white paint. Paint anything that will not be covered with pattern paper. I painted the front part of the house awnings and the very top roof part.
Step 3:
Trim the pattern paper to fit the sides and features of the homes. This part is a little tricky. I laid my house down and carefully traced around each of the sides and then cut them out. Adhere the pattern paper pieces to the house. The painted edges will cover any imperfections.

Step 4:
Cut out a rectangular piece of pattern paper for the door of the house. Attach a glitter brad as the doorknob. I added some stickles around the edges of the door for a glitter/snow effect. Adhere foam strips to give the door some dimension.
I created my own chimney by making a wrapped box out of pattern paper. I then cut the bottom half off in the shape of the roof. I adhered this to the house with stickles. I also used stickles to create the brick look.

Step 5:
Punch a 2 inch circle out of cardstock. Place a rub-on or stamped image in the center of the circle. Adhere this to piece of pattern paper. Take scalloped decorative edged scissors and cut around this creating a scalloped mat. Add stickles around the whole thing. Adhere this with pop dots at the highest point of the roof.

Step 6:
Take the scallop stamp from the Vintage Cupcake set and stamp several onto white cardstock.
|
 |
Step 7:
I selected three colors that matched my pattern paper: red, green, and blue. I then used the scallop filler stamp and stamped my colors. I stamped all the reds at one time, then the greens, and finally my blues.

 |
Step 8:
Adhere the stamped awnings onto the house.
|
 |
Step 9:
Stamp the “Merry Christmas” from the “Santa’s Sleigh” stamp set onto the house as shown. Adhere a ribbon/fiber treatment of your choice. Finally add some stickles for some fun sparkle.

 |
Step 10:
Stamp the Santa and Reindeer from the “Santa’s Sleigh” stamp set. Color the images, hand cut them out, and adhere to the house chimney.
Add stickles around the house to add some glitter!

Set your house out at Christmas and Enjoy!
