May 2009 Guest Designer - Lisa Zappa

Tell us about yourself:
I'm a full-time corporate travel agent from St. Paul, MN, who works mainly to support my stamping habit. (Oh, and to keep a roof over my head!) I'm an avid 'junker' and love to hit estate sales and flea markets in search of that perfect old loved, worn item. I love to use 'found' treasures in my design work, to create 'out of the box', fun elements of surprise on my projects.

I have just finished 6 months as a designer on Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen Design Team, and currently design for 2 other rubber stamp companies. I was on the Hanna Stamps design team, was a Whipper Snapper guest designer, and currently design for Crafty Secrets and Our Craft Lounge. I have been a Stampin Up Demo and an instructor at Archivers, and continue to share my love of all things stamping and papercrafting through my blog www.shabbychickjunk.blogspot.com.

How did you get started in the papercrafting world?
My sister came home from a Stampin Up party and had purchased a ton of stamps and craft items. I laughed at her for spending that much money on craft supplies, until I played with them one day and was hooked. I started selling my cards and then selling Stampin Up products, and then it all ballooned out from there. I love ALL stamp types, stamp companies and try not to limit myself to one particular style of stamps. I love the instant gratification that creating cards gives me, and I love that if I'm having an off day creativity-wise, I can 'file' the creation in the garbage can, no guilt! It's just PAPER!

Morning Person or Night Owl? I'd have to say definitely night-owl. If I stay up stamping in front of an Ott-light, I can't go sleep. Monday mornings are tough!

Favorite Sandwich: Tuna melt

When I go out with friends, we usually go to:  A casual bar or patio for drinks.

Favorite color(s): RED and RED

Favorite crafting tool: My tonic distresser & my distress ink. (Can I have 2 favorites?)

Favorite products (other than Pink Persimmon, of course!): Currently flowersoft, but I don't discriminate, I love EVERYTHING!

I am inspired by: Vintage anything

I can’t live without:  Diet Coke

My creative/scrap area right now looks:  Like a hurricane hit after a tornado went through after someone ransacked it.
