September 2008 Guest Designer - Lindsay Spencer

I’m a whimsical, spontaneous, carefree crafter married to a conservative, structured, money wise, absolutely wonderful! man.  I have 3 VERY active boys and 1 girly girl. We are a family that loves the outdoors and nature.  I live in Brigham City, Utah.  I am mostly a SAHM, but have been working for an online SB company called Legacy Scrapbooking. I’ve been designing chipboard albums along with the owner.  I make hair bows and sell them on the side as well. (You should see my insane ribbon supply!)

I’ve been papercrafting for about 5 years, but just recently got into stamping. It seems to have taken control of me.  I love it because it lets me express myself and feel accomplishment and satisfaction from the art that I create. I love colors and textures. You can find them in all things beautiful, especially in nature.  So my family adventures and my art fall hand in hand.

Lindsay answered a few questions for us so we could get to know her a bit better:

Morning Person or Night Owl?   LOL! Both I guess, since I’m up until 4 am some nights, you could say I’m a night owl transformed into a morning person.  I’m truly a night owl. Always have been.

Favorite Sandwich: A fresh tomato from the garden(still warm from the sun), a fresh sliced cucumber, a slice of cheese, and a dab of mayo, all piled on a soft piece of Grandma Sycamores white bread. Oh! And a sprinkle of pepper.

When I go out with friends, we usually go to: Out to eat at this wonderful Mexican restaurant. Then, sometimes, back to someone’s kitchen to scrapbook.

Favorite color(s): Lavender, Sage Green, & Turquoise

Favorite crafting tool: My bamboo Pen Tablet, Fabri-tac adhesive, and my brain.

Favorite products (other than Pink Persimmon, of course!): Pink Persimmon, hehe, Chipboard, I love Crate Paper, buttons, and I almost can’t make anything without using  Colorbox fluid chalk.

I am inspired by: NATURE, music, my ever so creative friends, and of course my children. (they make beautiful, soul inspired art.)

I can’t live without: My kids, chocolate, Diet Coke, new paper, Pink Persimmon stampsJ, and a frequent trip to the beautiful mountains to roast $.69 hotdogs.

My creative/scrap area right now looks: A semi-organized disaster! With an empty bowl of  Dryers Loaded Chocolate Brownie ice cream,  an old bottle of orange Gatorade, and countless spools of intertwined ribbon that really need to be put away.

Here is a sampling of Lindsay's work. You can view larger images of these card & layout designs in our Idea Gallery.
